Biography
Vera Mae Green (1928–1982) was an American anthropologist and academic who served as the first president of the Association of Black Anthropologists (1977–79). She is remembered for her research into ethnic groups in the Caribbean, India and the southern United States as well as for her encouragement of African Americans to take up anthropology.
