Uwe Sauer is a former basketball player and basketball coach from Germany.
Sauer was born on 23 February 1963, in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Sauer had a successful basketball career in Germany from 1985-1997 winning titles with Cologne and Bayreuth and being the youngest German playing at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984. He played for the Santa Clara University.
After retiring from playing basketball, he became a coach. From 1997 to 1999, he was the assistant coach for SSV Ulm, a football club in Ulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
He then coached in Tuebingen, Germany from 1999-2003. From 2003 to 2006, he coached for BG Karlsruhe. Since then he has coached clubs like the Mitteldeutscher BC, The Teckpro Braves in Kaiserslautern and recently BG Illertal-Weissenhorn.
