Introduction

Steve Darrell (November 19, 1904 – August 14, 1970) was an American actor.

He was born Darryl Eugene Horsfall in Osage in Mitchell County in northern Iowa, and died from a brain tumor in Hollywood, California. He is buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was cast as the wise Comanche chief Little Elk in the 1958 episode "Renegades" of the ABC/Warner Brothers western television series, Cheyenne, with Clint Walker in the title role. The episode also stars Peter Brown as a young United States Army enlistee, Jed Wayne, who seeks to follow in his father's footsteps though the senior Wayne was killed in an attack by renegades.
