SARASARA
Introduction
Sarah Filleur also known as sarasara [written "s a r a s a r a"] is a French singer, songwriter, producer and graphic designer who started her musical career in the United Kingdom. Her musical influences and inspirations are artists such as Björk, LFO and Vanessa Paradis.
In January 2016, Sarasara signed a record deal with One Little Indian Records and released her debut album a m o r f a t i in November 2016. The day of her album release, the singer made it into The Guardian's Future 50, an article in which the newspaper listed 50 of the most promising independent artists in the world.
Career
Influences
Electronic music is one of the many influences surrounding Sarasara's musical universe and genre. After entering a club for the first time at the age of 16, Sarah found herself "falling in love with the music, the people the lifestyle and the freedom".
While she was still in college, Sarah started DJing for friends, small local bars and clubs in her area.
As her student life came to an end, Sarah decided to focus on her own music. With no musical background, she sold her record collection and pieces of furniture to be able to afford the proper musical equipments to start producing and recording her own songs from home. Sarasara started to grow from there. Other forms of arts and different subjects, such as philosophy, literature and movies, played a great part in defining Sarasara's musical identity.
2016 - A m o r F a t i
Sarasara's first album A m o r F a t i came out on November 11, 2016. The name of the album was inspired by Nietzsche's philosophy and his philosophical novel : Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The latin phrase "Amor Fati" can be translated as "love of fate" or "love of one's fate". To Sarah, the meaning behind "Amor Fati" goes beyond accepting and loving your fate. Amor fati is about wanting your fate and reaching for it, attracting it. In an interview for The 405, the young singer explained that in order to do that, one will have to work instinctively and find the will to power their consciousness by listening to their body.
By the end of 2016, Sarasara released 2 singles from her debut album: Euphoria came out in September 2016, a month later the singer announced the release of a second single called Supernova. Sunbecame the album's third single and came out in 2017. The track Love has been announced as the fourth single and is to be released in September 2017.

Collaboration
The photoshoot for Sarasara's album cover took place in Clapham (London). Her great interest in Antique sculptures and her fascination with that particular form of art pushed Sarah to explore the creative path that is at the very essence of her album artwork. The Amor Fati visual was created with the help of Alva Bernadine, a renowned British photographer. The two colaborated to bring Sarasara's project to life : Alva Bernadine provided her with the photographs and visual effects she needed as Sarah worked on the graphic designs herself and produced the final visual for a m o r f a t i.
One of Alva Bernadine's photo series named Succubus turned out to be a source of inspiration that contributed to the making of the artwork for her first album.
