Biography

Robert Hyde (10 October 1650 – 1722) was an English politician.

He was second (and oldest surviving) son of Alexander Hyde, who was Bishop of Salisbury from 1665 to 1667. He was educated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford and then at the Middle Temple, where he was called to the bar in 1673.

He was a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Hindon 1677–79, 1685–87, 1689–98, and Wiltshire 1702–07. He then sat in the Parliament of Great Britain as MP for Wiltshire from 1707 to 1722.
