Biography

Richard T. Roush, better known as Rick Roush is a Professor of Entomology and Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences at Pennsylvania State University.

Roush was born in San Diego, California. He obtained his B.S. degree from UC Davis in 1976, and after spending under guidance from Dr. Marjorie Hoy, got his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 1979. He then spent his postdoctoral years at Texas A&M University where his mentors were V.B. Vinson and F.W. Plapp. From 1981 to 1986 Roush served as faculty member of Mississippi State University and from 1987 to 1995 he was a visiting professor at Cornell University. Soon after, Roush moved to Australia where he worked as a faculty member of its University of Adelaide where he was promoted to a director and CEO of the National Research Centre for Management and then to a director of IPM Program at UC Davis. Since 2006, Roush serves as dean at University of Melbourne School of Land and Environment and in 2014 held the same position at the Pennsylvania State University. In 2019, Rick Roush became a fellow of the Entomological Society of America.
