Biography

Paul F. Griner is an American professor emeritus of medicine, general director of Strong Memorial Hospital, and chairman of the Department of Health Services at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Griner received B.A. from Harvard University and his M.D. degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and served as its faculty since 1964. He is a board member of the Rochester Area Hospitals' Corporation and is a member of theSteering Committee on Access and Health Care Reform of the American College of Physicians.

From 1950s to 1960s he compiled patients' histories and in 2013 he published a book called The Power of Patient Stories: Learning Moments in Medicine. He works at Danbury Hospital and Western Connecticut Health Network.

In 2012 he retired from Harvard Medical School where he worked as hematologist.

He married Miriam E. Millard in 1956.
