Mike E. Smith

Mike Earl Smith (born August 10, 1965) is an American jockey in thoroughbred horse racing who has been one of the leading riders in the sport since the early 1990s.

Smith has been inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and has won several prestigious races including the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. He has also won the Breeders' Cup Classic five times.

Smith is known for his patient and strategic riding style. He is known for his ability to position his horse well throughout the race and make well-timed moves to secure victory.

One of Mike E. Smith's most famous horses is Zenyatta, a champion racehorse who went undefeated in her first 19 races. Smith rode her to numerous victories and helped cement her status as one of the greatest racehorses in history.

Mike E. Smith has won the Kentucky Derby three times. His victories came aboard the horses Giacomo in 2005, Justify in 2018, and Authentic in 2020.
