Introduction
John Mark Holtom (born 6 February 1958 in Burton-on-Trent) is a retired English athlete who specialised in the sprint hurdles. He competed in the event at two consecutive Olympic Games, in 1980 and 1984, as well as the 1983 World Championships. In addition, he won a silver medal at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. At the end of his career he moved up to 400 metres hurdles.
