Marcus Tavernier (born 22 March 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays for EFL Championship club Middlesbrough, as a left-winger.

Personal life

Tavernier is the younger brother of Rangers right-back James Tavernier and is also reportedly a Rangers fan himself.

Club career

Middlesbrough

Having previously played for Newcastle, Tavernier joined Middlesbrough's academy at under-14 level and has since become a regular for the side in the Premier League 2. He played in two games for his club in the 2015–16 UEFA Youth League.

Tavernier made his professional debut for the club in the EFL Cup, starting in a 3–0 win against Scunthorpe United at the Riverside Stadium.
