

Maher Baker
Introduction
Maher Baker aka Maker Asaad Baker ( in Arabic: ماهر أسعد بكر ), (born February 4, 1977) is a Syrian visual effects artist, graphic designer, programmer, Internet entrepreneur and author.
Early life
Baker joined Damascus University to study law in 1996. He changed his mind about studding law and left the university after two years in order to focus on learning programming.
In 1999 he founded SOLAVin his room, in June 1999 they launched their first commercial software "DEN" (a software for dentists) which was a success hit for being the first Arabic dentist clinic management system.
Accomplishments
In 2000 Maher invented the four-stages encryption for the software protection dongle used in commercial applications.
In 2002 Maher created the first software that capable of translating Arabic domains to English, the software was acquired by SyriaNobles and became ArabicGO, (The project was shutdown in 2010).
In 2005 he created Geo-Mapping server for publishing interactive maps.
In 2009 he created the mapping system for the Regional Center for Local Sustainable Development in Syria.
In 2010 he launched an electronic newspaper called "Ent Wana", It was a free and based on open contributions from Arab newbies editors to encourage them.
