Biography
Lawrence Joseph Hanley (June 24, 1956 – May 7, 2019) was an American bus driver and labor leader, born in Jamaica, Queens, New York City. Hanley died at the age of 62 from pulmonary disease. From 2010 until his death, he was International President of the Amalgamated Transit Union. He was from Staten Island and was a co-founder of the Working Families Party.
