Biography
Julika was an Albanian tribal chieftain who lived in Greece in the 1840s. In 1847 she beat the Ottoman forces of Nizam-Djedid during the Albanian Revolt of 1847. She tried to unite Christian and Muslim Albanians to fight the Ottomans. Edmund Spencer wrote in 1850 of mountaineers in a tavern near the Scoumbi river on their way to join Julika. Julika had secured most mountains areas around Vlore in order to capture it.
