David Jonathan Edwards (born 26 April 1976) is a Plaid Cymru politician in the United Kingdom. He was first elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency of Carmarthen East and Dinefwr in Wales in May 2010. Edwards held the seat for Plaid Cymru, replacing previous MP Adam Price who stood down.

In January 2012, he submitted an Early Day Motion for a Cornish Assembly, being supported by fellow PC MPs Hywel Williams and Elfyn Llywd and Paul Flynn of Labour.

Edwards posted a Twitter remark in 2014 criticising Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton for describing himself as British whilst representing the British and Irish Lions and again in the run up to the Scottish independence referendum 2014 with the claim unionists "loathe" their country Politicians from other parties re-affirmed their dual British and Welsh identities.

Acting as Plaid Cymru's Brexit spokesperson, Edwards described the Brexit bill as the "biggest job-killing act in Welsh economic history". A proposed amendment introduced by Edwards which would have required the government to report on the effect on Wales' public finances was defeated, and Edwards voted against the third reading of the bill.
