Introduction

Jon Nolan (born 22 April 1992) is an English footballer who plays for Chesterfield as a midfielder.

Career

Early career

Nolan began his career with Everton's academy before he entered non-league football with Stockport County in 2011. He then spent three years at Lincoln City during which time he had a spell on loan at Wrexham.

Grimsby Town

In January 2016, Nolan joined National League side Grimsby Town on a contract until the end of the season, helping them to play off triumph over Forest Green Rovers, and promotion to League Two.

Chesterfield

In May 2016 Nolan joined League One side Chesterfield on a free transfer after his Grimsby contract expired. He made his Football League debut on 6 August 2016 in a 1–1 draw away at Oxford United. He scored his first goal for the club on 13 November 2016, in an eventual 4-1 defeat to Sheffield United. On 3 December 2016, he was sent off in a 5-0 FA Cup loss to Wycombe Wanderers following a challenge on Dominic Gape.
