James J. O'Day (born May 23, 1954) is an American social worker and state legislator in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He is a West Boylston resident and a member of the Democratic Party.
Early life
O'Day was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in urban studies and management from Worcester State University. After college, O'Day was a social worker.
Career in the Massachusetts House of Representatives
In 2007, O'Day ran in a special election to represent Worcester in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He won the election in April 2007 and was sworn in the following month.

O'Day lives in West Boylston with his wife Marybeth Murphy O'Day.
