Introduction

Jacki Schechner is an American journalist and television news personality. She is known for her work for InvestigateRussia.org, a website founded Rob and Michele Reiner, which investigated the alleged Russian involvement with Donald Trump administration.

Education

Schechner attended University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Diplomatic History. In the years 1995-1996, she attended the University of Miami and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Career

After graduating from the University of Miami, Schechner began her journalism career in 1997, working as Associate Sports Producer for WSVN7/FOX in Miami, Florida. The following year, in March 1998, she became TV sports reporter for WHAG/NBC25, in Hagerstown, MD.

In November 1999, she moved to New York City and began hosting daily live, unscripted programming for pseduo.com, where she interviewed such known personalities as Arianna Huffington and Dick Morris. Following the year-long stint at pseudo.com, Schechner joined Discovery Television network, hosting a digital culture and technology series for the History Channel and the Travel Channel.

In 2001-2004, she worked as Market Research Consultant for The Hired Guns.

In February 2005, she became the first-ever Internet Correspondent for CNN in Washington, DC. She left CNN in August 2007 and in 2008, she became Communications Director for HealthCare for America Now (HCAN.)

Since late 2013, Schechner has been heard regularly on SiriusXM, as a political news and opinion contributor for "The Stephanie Miller Show" and for "Tell Me Everything" with John Fugelsang.

In the summer of 2017, she became the Editor-In-Chief for InvestigateRussia.org, a nonprofit organization founded by Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner. The website aggregates and curates information related to alleged links between Trump associates and Russian officials.

In the news

In 2009, Schechner became a target of Bill O'Reilly during his "Talking Points" segment on Fox News Channel, in which he kept referring to her as "the former CNN reporter."

Working with InvestigateRussia.org, in 2017, she wrote script for a widely popular video featuring the actor Morgan Freeman, in which Freeman warns Russia is waging war on the U.S.
