Gopal Misra

Gopal Mishra (1921–1977) was an Indian sarangi player. He was the younger brother of renowned sarangi player Hanuman Prasad Mishra.

Gopal Mishra was born in 1921 in Varanasi. He first learned from his brother Hanuman Prasad Mishra and from his father Sur Sahai Mishra. Later he learned also from the great vocalist Bare Ram Das.

Mishra has accompanied various singers and was one of the best sarangi players from the 20th century. Mishra died in 1977 at the age of 56.
