Introduction

Franklin Nelson (born 1933) is an American former ice dancer. Competing in partnership with Sidney Arnold, he became the 1956 U.S. national bronze medalist and placed 7th at the 1956 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, West Germany.

After ending his skating career, Nelson joined the U.S. Navy (in 1956), studied at medical school and became a surgeon. He also served as president of the United States Figure Skating Association.
