Introduction
Ediz Gurel (born 2008) is a Turkish chess player who received the FIDE title of International Master (IM) in 2022.
Chess career
Gurel is currently the youngest IM, and secured the second of his three-required Grandmaster (GM) norms after finishing on 6/8 at the 2023 European Individual Chess Championship.
Gurel finished second, on 7.5/9, in the Under-14 section of the 2022 European Youth Championship.
