Introduction
Yozee Mathu, professionally known as Drey Mathu, is a Kenyan Executive producer, mixing engineer & music video director.
Early Life
Drey Mathu was born in 2001 in Namanga, Kajiado in Kenya. He grew up in Namanga and currently lives in Nairobi. He attended his primary school in Namanga, Kajiado and moved in Nairobi for his High school education. Drey Mathu was an average student in school, he wanted to become a doctor but after high school he pursued in music production.
Career
Drey Mathu started his career at the age of 14 as a DJ in a local joint in Namanga. Later in 2019, he joined music production school in Nairobi to pursue in music as a producer and completed the school in 2021. In 2022, Drey founded Pinnacle Studio, he uploads musical instruments on his YouTube channel. He later rebranded Pinnacle Studio in 2024 to Kinwave Studios after moving from where he lived to Thika. Drey Mathu was featured on Opaque, a single by Is This Abdul in 2022, but it was later taken down due to copyright infringement.
