Introduction
Daisy Bufford (April 20, 1913 - December 18, 1987) was an American film actress active during the mid-1920s to mid-1940s. She is known for her roles in Forgotten Faces (1936), Love on Toast (1937), and Son of Ingagi (1940).
Early life
Daisy Bufford was born Daisy King on April 20, 1913, in Franklin, Louisiana.
Career
Bufford made her acting debut in 1927, appearing in a minor, uncredited role in director Edward F. Cline's comedy The Girl from Everywhere. In 1930, she was seen as herself in composer/conductor Jester Hairston's musical comedy Deep South.
In the following years, Bufford was seen in mostly uncredited roles in numerous movies such as A Notorious Gentleman (1935), Don't Bet on Blondes (1935), The Invisible Ray (1936), Next Time We Love (1936) and Show Boat (1936.) In many of her following credits, she played the role of a maid –– the films include Forgotten Faces and To Mary - with Love in 1936; Sophie Lang Goes West (1937); and The Star Maker (1939).
Bufford was last seen on the silver screen in 1944, portraying the character of "Carolina" in Sidney Toler and Joan Woodbury-starrer comedy Charlie Chan in The Chinese Cat.
Death
Bufford died on December 18, 1987, in Contra Costa County, California.
