Introduction

Ecaterina Cocuța Conachi (1829–1870) was a Romanian princess and revolutionary. She is known for her activism and work for the unification of Moldavia and Wallachia. She died of paludism.

Personal life

Ecaterina Conachi married firstly in 1846, in Iași, Prince Nicolae Vogoride. They had four children:

  • Emanoil Vogoride-Conachi ((1847-04-10)10 April 1847, Iași – 19 August 1935(1935-08-19), Paris).
  • Constantin Vogoride-Conachi (1849 – ?).
  • Maria Vogoride-Conachi (1851 – 1931, Iași).
  • Lucia Vogoride-Conachi ((1855-10-26)26 October 1855, Iași – March 1938, Iași).

In 1864, she remarried in Rome, Prince Emanuele Ruspoli, with whom she had five children:

  • Costantino Ruspoli ((1865-01-14)14 January 1865, Rome – 29 April 1889(1889-04-29), Rome).
  • Eugenio Ruspoli ((1866-01-06)6 January 1866, Țigănești – 4 December 1893(1893-12-04), Somalia)
  • Mario Ruspoli ((1867-10-16)16 October 1867, Țigănești – 16 January 1963(1963-01-16), Florence).
  • Caterina Ruspoli ((1868-11-15)15 November 1868, Țigănești – 12 August 1912(1912-08-12), Bern).
  • Margherita Ruspoli ((1870-02-07)7 February 1870, Genoa – 5 June 1970(1970-06-05)).
