Biography

Casey Cunningham (born April 25, 1976) is an American freestyle wrestler.

Cunningham is a graduate of Middleton Fulton High School, Gratiot County, Michigan. He then earned his bachelor's degree in sociology with an emphasis in criminal justice from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, in 1999.

The two-time All-American (he was national runner-up in 1998) won three MAC championships (1996, 1997 and 1999) and was twice named MAC Wrestler of the Year (1998 and 1999). He finished his Chippewa career with a 134-19 record.

In November 2000, Cunningham was placed fifth in the World University Championship. In February 2002, he finished second at the Dave Schultz Memorial International, and in February 2003, he won the Dave Schultz Memorial International.

In 2008, Cunningham won the Pan American Games silver medal and subsequently retired from international competition.

Personal life

Cunningham's wife, Tara (Nott) Cunningham, is an Olympic champion, having won the gold medal in weightlifting at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The couple has three sons, Hayden, Asher and Ryder.
