Brad Raider (born April 28, 1975) is an American stage and screen actor, director, and producer.

Biography

Brad Raider was born Brad Evan Raider in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 28, 1975.

Theatre

Raider began his early theatrical career at the local arts center, Long Lake Arts Camp. He attended Cheltenham High School, Pennsylvania, where he co-wrote and performed a one-man show about the life and films of director Frank Capra.

In New York, he graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he trained at the Circle in the Square Theatre School, the Experimental Theatre Wing, and with Anne Bogart's SITI Company. Off-Broadway, he played the title role in the 400th-anniversary production of Henry V and appeared in many New York stage productions including Peter Weiss's Marat/Sade, Marc Blitzstein's The Cradle Will Rock, Christopher Durang's The Marriage of Bette and Boo, and William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

In 2002, Raider and his long-time friend and collaborator, James Roday founded "Red Dog Squadron", a Los Angeles-based theatre company. Raider serves as the artistic co-director of the theatre company. For Red Dog, he starred as "Bernie" in David Mamet's Sexual Perversity in Chicago, which he also directed, and appeared as "Birthday Boy" in their production of Sustenance. In 2007, he played the role of "Podnov" in Red Dog's production of Grand Delusion by David Rock. In 2011, he played "Louis" in their production of Greedy by Karl Gajdusek.

Most recently, Raider played "Tim" in the West Coast Premiere of William Francis Hoffman's Cal in Camo, directed by Amy K. Harmon and also starring Bree Turnerand Tim Cummings.

Television

Raider's television credits include starring roles on the short-lived series The Trouble With Normal and That Was Then, both for ABC and guest-starring roles on Santa Clarita Diet, Psych, Better Off Ted, FlashForward, Jericho, CSI: NY, Spin City, The Education of Max Bickford, Miss Match, Modern Men, The Bad Girl's Guide, Rock Me Baby, and Coupling. He was seen in the title role in the cable movie Spring Break Lawyer and provided his voice for the animated series Transformers: Prime.

Film

Raider's feature film directorial debut, Kensho at the Bedfellow, in which he stars with Kaley Ronayne, Kathryn Erbe, Grainger Hines, Sahr Ngaujah, and Steven Klein, is an existential drama about a guy in New York City searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places. It was released in 2017 on iTunes and Amazon. In addition to two winning Best Feature Film awards at six festivals, Kensho at the Bedfellow was one of only a handful of films worldwide asked to participate in the first Conscious Film Convergence at the Illuminate Film Festival. It was also screened at the Rubin Museum of Art in NYC as the inaugural film of their Brainwave: Perception Series. Raider also starred in the Warner Brothers' release of Americanizing Shelley and the independent feature, Greener Mountains.

In 2018, Raider was featured in SHOOT Magazine's New Directors Showcase as one of 34 directors honored at the Directors Guild of America in NYC.
