Introduction

Alfred Ethelbert Moss (30 May 1896 – 23 April 1972) was a British racecar driver. He was born in Kensington, London. In 1924, he placed 14th or 16th (sources differ) at the Indy 500 in a Fronty Ford.

Moss was the son of Sarah Jane and Abraham Moss. His father was Jewish and his mother was Christian. He and his wife, Aileen (Craufurd), were parents to Formula One driver Stirling Moss and rallying champion Pat Moss.

Moss died aged 75 in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, on the 10th anniversary of his son being seriously being injured in a car racing crash at Goodwood.
