Alex Samuel

Alex Samuel (born 20 September 1995) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a striker for Newport County on loan from Swansea City.

Samuel started his career at Aberystwyth Town, before moving to Swansea City.

He was a mainstay of the Swansea City under-21 side which won the Professional Development League in 2014–15.

In September 2015, Samuel went on loan to Greenock Morton until 9 January 2016. He made his debut as a late substitute for Romario Sabajo in a 4–2 victory against Livingston. He scored his first league goal with the late equaliser in the Renfrewshire derby against St. Mirren on 20 November 2015. On 8 January 2016, the loan was extended until the end of the season. In February 2016, he returned to Swansea to receive treatment after sustaining an injury in a Development League West match against Queen's Park.

On 13 January 2017, Samuel joined League Two club Newport County on loan until the end of the 2016–17 season.

Samuel has played for Wales at U19 level.
