Afton Smith (December 3, 1967) is an American actress known for her roles in Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), Reality Bites(1994), and George of the Jungle (1997).

Life and career

Afton Smith was born on December 3, 1967, in Northport, Long Island, New York. She made her screen debut in 1987, playing Kim in Marek Kanievska's crime drama Less Than Zero, starring Andrew McCarthyJami Gertz, and Robert Downey Jr. The same year, she was seen in a minor role in Amin Q. Chaudhri's TV movie Once Again.

In 1997, Smith had a minor role in Sam Weisman's George of the Jungle, playing a friend of Ursula (played by Leslie Mann).

In 2004, Smith wrote a book called "Hollywood Picks the Classics: A Guide for the Beginner and the Aficionado." The book, a guide for classic movies, focuses on the movies of the Golden Age from 1930 to 1960; breaks them down into categories such as Film Noir, Romance, Good Guys/Bad Guys etc.

Personal life

Smith was married to actor Brendan Fraser from September 27, 1998, until the divorce on April 17, 2008. They had three children—Griffin Arthur Fraser (born 2002), Holden Fletcher Fraser (born 2004), and Leland Francis Fraser (born 2006.)

According to IMDB, in early 2013, Brendan Fraser petitioned the courts for a reduction of his alimony and child support payments, asserting that he was unable to meet the annual obligation of $900,000; Smith, in turn, accused Fraser of hiding financial assets.
