Abram Zimmerman (19 October 1911 — 5 June 1968) was an American businessperson. He was the father of celebrated American musician Bob Dylan.
Abram Zimmerman was born on October 19, 1911, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Zigman Zisel Zimmerman (1873–1935) and Anna Greenstein Zimmerman (1879–1955). His parents had emigrated to the United States from Odesa in the Russian Empire (now Ukraine), following the anti-Semitic pogroms of 1905.
Zimmerman was the owner of an electric-appliance business named Zimmerman Appliance. He was married to Beatrice Stone Zimmerman (1915–2000), with whom he had a son Bob Dylan (real name Robert Allen Zimmerman, born 24 May 1941).
Death
Zimmerman died on June 5, 1968, in Duluth, Minnesota, at the age of 56.
