Introduction
Wamiqa Gabbbi is an Indian film actress.
Early life
Wamiqa was born and brought up in Chandigarh. Her father, Govardhan Gabbi is a Punjabi writer and her mother, Raj Kumari, an educationist. Always wanting to be an actress, she was just eight years old when she acted in a Punjabi television-serial Saude Dillan De. Wamiqa can write and understand Punjabi, Hindi and English languages.
Career
A trained kathak dancer, she was among the top five participants in a dance show judged by Aamir Khan. It was during the dance show that she was offered a small role in Jab We Met, starting her acting stint in films. She was also seen in films like Bittoo Boss and Love Aaj Kal after that.
Her big break came with the Punjabi film with Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amrinder Gill, Tu Mera 22 Mai Tera 22. She went on to star in two other Punjabi films Ishq Brandy and Ishq Haazir Hai as a co-star to actor Diljit Dosanjh.
She has also done a Hindi film as first female lead as Tanisha. Sixteen., She starred in Telugu film BhaleManchiRoju as female lead.
Wamiqa has also acted as the female lead in a Tamil film Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam. She also signed a new agreement to act in a Malayalam film directing by Basil Joseph who earlier directed Kunjiramayanam. The movie titled as Godha will starts rolling by May 2016 where she act opposite Tovino Thomas.
