Introduction
Kurt Tanzer (1 November 1920 – 25 June 1960) was a fighter pilot in the Luftwaffe of Nazi Germany during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Tanzer was credited with shooting down from 128 to 143 enemy aircraft.
Tanzer received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 5 December 1943 for 35 victories. He was the 81st Luftwaffe pilot to achieve the century mark.
