Introduction

Kip Wightman is an Australian radio and television presenter. He is currently a co-host of The Nova 106.9 Breakfast Show With David Lutteral and Ashley Bradnam.

Early life

Wightman was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He went to Grace Lutheran college, Queensland and later attended All Saints University.

Radio career

Wightman's radio career began in 1994 when he worked as an announcer/copywriter at Northwest in Karratha, Western Australia. In 1995, he became the late night announcer with Sunshine FM in Perth, Australia. He then worked at 92.9FM's evening shows, following which he fronted breakfast shows for 97.3FM in Mandurah, Australia.

In April 2005, he joined Nova radio, co-hosting 106.9 Brisbane Breakfast show with Meshel Laurie, David Lutteral, and Ashley Bradnam. The show disbanded in 2009 with Wightman leaving to join his girlfriend Emileigh in Boston, USA, and Bradnam standing down due to personal issues. Meshel Laurie went on to host a new show on Nova FM, "Meshel, Tim and Marty," an Australian drive radio show, with Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold.

In 2011, the Nova Brisbane breakfast show was revived. Lutteral moved back to Australia from Los Angeles, joining the original member, Bradnam, and the new members Camilla Severi and Dan Anstey. In 2012, Wightman re-joined the show, while Severi and Anstey left. The new show was titled, "Ash, Kip and Luttsy."

Personal life

Wightman is married to his wife, Amber. The couple has their first child, Rafael Victor Wightman, in July 2019.
