Biography
Dr. Karel Hartmann (July 6, 1885 – c. October 16, 1944) was a Czechoslovakian ice hockey player who competed in the Olympic games in 1920. He was a member of the national team that won the bronze medal in Antwerp. In 1922, he succeeded Paul Loicq as vice-president of the International Ice Hockey Federation. On October 16, 1944, Hartmann and his wife were shipped to Auschwitz concentration camp where they were probably put to death on the same day.
