Introduction

Brandon Holt (born April 6, 1998) is an American professional tennis player. Holt has been ranked as high as world No. 180 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he achieved in May 2023. He also attained his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 473 in February 2020.

The son of former world No. 1 Tracy Austin, Holt played collegiate tennis for the University of Southern California from 2016 to 2020, where he was named an All-American athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for three consecutive seasons, before turning professional shortly thereafter. Since 2015, he has won 12 singles and doubles titles on the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour. In 2022, Holt qualified for his first Grand Slam tournament on his first attempt at the US Open and made headlines after upsetting 10th seed Taylor Fritz in four sets in the first round. He went on to qualify for the 2023 Australian Open and make an additional second-round appearance at a major after defeating Aleksandar Vukic.

2022–2023: Grand Slam and ATP Masters 1000 debuts

Ranked No. 303, Holt made his Grand Slam debut at the 2022 US Open as a qualifier after defeating Dimitar Kuzmanov in the last round of qualifying. He won his first Grand Slam level match, upsetting 10th seed Taylor Fritz. This was also Holt's first career win on the ATP Tour.

In January 2023, Holt qualified and made his debut at the 2023 Australian Open, defeating Marco Trungelliti in the last round of qualifying. He recorded his first win at this Major after defeating fellow qualifier Aleksandar Vukic.

He made his main draw debut at the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells as a wildcard, losing in straight sets to Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Personal life

Holt is the son of Tracy Austin, a former WTA World No. 1 and two-time US Open Women's Singles champion.
