Walter L. Sharp

Walter L. Sharp is a retired United States Army four-star general who served as the Commander, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United States Forces Korea from 2008 to 2011.

Walter L. Sharp served for over 35 years in the United States Army and held numerous command and staff positions, including serving as the Commander of the Fourth Infantry Division and the Combined Joint Task Force–180 during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Walter L. Sharp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

Walter L. Sharp has received various military awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Defense Superior Service Medal.

Walter L. Sharp retired from the United States Army on October 1, 2011, after over 35 years of service.
