Introduction
Royce Davison (born September 19, 1996), better known by his stage name Ugly God, is an American rapper and record producer from Houston. He is best known for his 2016 single, "Water".
Early life
Royce Davison was born on September 19, 1996 in Indiana. Ugly God started rapping while he was enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi where he wanted to become a computer engineer before dropping out.
Career
From his 7th to 10th Grade, he used the handle 'Pussy Bacon'. He changed his name to the famous 'Ugly God' because of social reason, and his parents. He also states that he made the name up on the spot. Creating the phrase 'I'm Real Ugly' which evolved into 'Ugly God'.
In 2014, he released his debut single titled 'I Beat My Meat'. It was then taken down as his high school thought it was too grotesque. It was later then re-uploaded, but the school then requested another take down. After the second take down, the song became popular through re-uploads and most notable, this video from Aspect Zavi.
In 2015, during his Freshman year of College, he has re-uploaded the song and has stayed up since.
In 2016, he released his single titled "Water" on March 16, 2016 on his SoundCloud account, before being released for digital download as a single on November 19, 2016, by Asylum Records. The song debuted at number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100, and later reached number 80 on the chart.
On June 13, 2017, Ugly God was named as one of the ten members of XXL's "2017 Freshman Class".
On August 4, 2017, Ugly God released his debut mixtape titled "The Booty Tape".
