Steven Engel

Steven Engel is an American lawyer who is the nominee to become United States Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel in the Donald Trump administration. Engel, who previously worked in the George W. Bush administration as deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel, was nominated by President Donald Trump on January 31, 2017. A graduate of Yale Law School, Engel clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. He practiced law at Kirkland & Ellis before becoming a partner at the Dechert law firm.
