Introduction
Sonia Lee is a Korean-born American entrepreneur. She is a co-founder of Fullpower Technologies, in Santa Cruz, California.
Lee was born on April 12, 1960, in Korea. She attended the School of The Art Institute of Chicago and earned a Bachelor of fine arts and painting degree.
Career
From 1992 to 1995, Lee did visual communications for various IPOs including Baan and Netcom.
In 1994, she with her husband, Philippe Kahn, co-founded Starfish Software, which was acquired by Motorola in 1998 for $320 million.
In 1998, the couple founded another technology startup, LightSurf Technologies. The company was acquired by Verisign in 2005, in a $330 Million transaction plus earn-out.
In 2004, she and Kahn launched their third company together, Fullpower Technologies. She has been working there ever since.
Personal life
Sonia Lee is married to Philippe Kahn, with whom she co-founded all the companies. Kahn is credited with creating the first camera phone. The couple has one child.
In addition, Lee and Kahn run an environmental charity, the Lee-Kahn Foundation.
