Introduction
Sarah Jane Woolgar (8 July 1824 – 8 September 1909) was an English stage actress.
Life
Woolgar appeared in the 1844 play The Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit written by Edward Stirling and Charles Dickens "Aladdin and the wonderful Lamp-New Lamp for old Ones". In 1868, Woolgar appeared with Benjamin Webster in Dickens' No Thoroughfare at the Adelphi Theatre in London where she was credited as Mrs. Alfred Mellon.
She married violinist and conductor Alfred Mellon (1820 – 1867) on 28 July 1855 at St George's, Hanover Square.
