Introduction
Samuel A. Mosberg (June 14, 1896 – August 30, 1967), born in New York City, was an American lightweight professional boxer who competed in the early 1920s.
Career
Mosberg began his amateur boxing career in 1912, and won a gold medal in Boxing at the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp, competing as a light heavyweight. He turned professional after the Olympics, competing in 57 professional fights and retiring in 1923. Mosberg, who was Jewish, coached the United States boxing team at the 1953 Maccabiah Games. Mosberg was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1985.
