Introduction

Sam "Sammy" Arnold (born 8 April 1996 in Surrey, England) is an English-born, Irish rugby union player for Munster in the Pro12. He plays as a Centre.

Ulster

Arnold made his debut against Newport Gwent Dragons as an eighteen year old. As a result, Arnold is one of the youngest ever players to represent the northern province.

Arnold made his European debut against oyonnax in January 2016 aged 19. However, his debut ended early after he suffered a hamstring injury early on in the match; an injury which limited him to only 2 further appearances that season.

Munster

On 4 February 2016, it was announced that Arnold would be joining Ulster's provincial rivals, Munster, at the beginning of the 2016–17 season. Weeks after joining Munster, Arnold damaged ligaments in his knee, which ruled him out of the opening period of the 2016–17 season. On 26 November 2016, Arnold made his competitive debut for Munster, starting alongside Jaco Taute in the 2016–17 Pro12 fixture against Treviso at Thomond Park.
