Biography
Rashid Buttar is an American osteopathic physician from Charlotte, North Carolina. He is known for his controversial use of chelation therapy for numerous conditions, including autism and cancer. He came to public attention in 2009 when he treated a woman named Desiree Jennings, who lost her ability to walk or talk normally after receiving a flu shot in 2009, with chelation therapy.
He has been criticized for his use of chelation, and for his use of intravenous hydrogen peroxide to treat cancer. In 2007, Buttar was charged by the North Carolina Medical Board with unethical treatment of four cancer patients.
