Introduction
Nytrix is an American DJ, electronic music producer and vocalist based in Los Angeles. He gained recognition for his song "Take Me Higher" and collaborations with singers DEV and Neon Hitch.
Early life
At the age of five, he took singing and music lessons. He studied performing arts in high school and recorded songs at recording studios. He lived in New York City with an older cousin as a teen, while auditioning for parts and searching for producers and record executives who would work with him. At the age of fifteen, he went to a dance club and heard synths through the speakers, inspiring him to become a producer so his own records would be played at clubs someday. He moved to Los Angeles alone, at the age of 17, to work on his career after finishing high school. He taught himself to use music production programs like Ableton, to write melodies for vocal leads and spin records on CDJ's and pioneer boards.
Career
In 2015, he released his first single "Take Me Higher" which was also released with a remixes EP which featured remixes from R3hab, Sikdope, Dave Aude, and D.O.D. The song peaked on the Billboard Dance chart at 7th.
He directed a music video for his single "Love Never Died" which was aired on MTV clubland and received over 1.5 million views on YouTube. It debuted on the Beatport Top 100 chart and was featured on Tiësto's Clublife radio show. The song received a remixes EP from remixers Laidback Luke, Mike Mago, Dave Aude, and Riot.
His collaboration with singer DEV titled "Electric Walk" debuted on the Billboard Dance chart peaking at 8th. A remix EP was also released featuring remixes from Jump Smokers, Ookay and Blasterjaxx who premiered Nytrix's first play at a music festival, at Tomorrowland in Brazil. Speaking about Blasterjaxx remixing the song, Nytrix said "When I sent them the track to see if they wanted to remix it, I had no idea if they were gonna be down to do it or not. Then I found out they liked it and wanted to support it with a remix, and I couldn’t believe it."
Nytrix's style expanded from big room and electro house to future bass and trap-oriented music. His single "Stay Here Forever", which also featured his vocals, incorporated sounds of the future bass genre. "The Night Circus", his single, was featured in podcasts from Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, David Guetta, Vinai and Chuckie. Nytrix has opened for musicians and artists like Carnage, Afrojack and Kesha.
In 2016, "When Will I See You Again", a collaboration with British singer Neon Hitch, was released alongside a music video on YouTube. He also released another single "Stay Here Forever" with a music video filmed in Iceland.
