Merissa Mathes (born January 26, 1940) is an American actress and model. She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its June 1962 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Glenn Otto.
Early life and education
Merissa Mathes was born Marrisa Mathes on January 26, 1940, in Moses Lake, Washington.
She studied liberal arts and drama at Santa Monica City College.
Career
Modeling
Mathes was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its June 1962 issue, preceded by Marya Carter, who was the Playmate for the May 1962 issue.
Mathes was succeeded by Norwegian model Unne Terjesen for the July 1962 issue of Playboy.
Acting
During the early to mid-1960s, Mathes pursued an acting career, appearing in several B-movies and television series. She made her debut in 1961, playing a juror in William Marshall's 1961 sci-fi/adventure film The Phantom Planet starring Dean Fredericks, Coleen Gray, and Anthony Dexter.
In 1963-1964, Mathes was seen in two episodes of Frank D. Gilroy's crime/adventure TV series Burke's Law.
Her last screen appearance was in Jack Hill and Stephanie Rothman's 1961 horror film Blood Bath alongside William Campbell and Lori Saunders.
