Introduction
Malin Ek (born 1945) is a Swedish stage, television, and film actress.
She is known for her roles in films False as Water (1985), The Guardian Angel (1990) and Mamma (1982.)
Early life
Malin Ek was born on 18 April 1945, in Malmö, Skåne län, Sweden.
She comes from a well-known Swedish family of actors; her father, Anders Ek, is an actor, and her mother, Birgit Cullberg, is a renowned Swedish choreographer.
Swedish choreographer, Mats Ek, and Swedish actor, Niklas Ek, are her twin brothers.
Career
Malin made her acting debut in 1969, with Ingmar Bergman-directed film, The Passion of Anna.
Her big break came with the 1982 film, Mamma, for which she won the Best Actress award at the 19th Guldbagge Awards. She won the Best Actress award again for her role in False as Water (Falsk som vatten, 1985) and again for a third time at the 26th Guldbagge Awards for her role in The Guardian Angel (1990.)
In 2010, she won the Eugene O'Neill Award.
Personal life
Malin had dated Swedish actor/director Hans Klinga - the couple had a daughter, Elin Klinga, also an actress.
Malin is currently dating Michael Cocke.
