Introduction

Robert Pešut (born 1 December 1965), known as Magnifico, is a Slovenian singer of Serbian descent.

Biography

His grandfather was a Serbian soldier who fought on the Salonika front in WW1, to whom he also dedicated a song called "pukni zoro" from his latest album "Montevideo, Bog te video" in 2013.

His musical path started with music group U'redu, with whom he recorded his first album, Let's Dance (1992). After that, he embarked on a solo career, recording six albums in twelve years.

Many of his songs have become a key part of Slovenian music history. Some of them are Silvija (participating on Slovenia's pre-selection for Eurovision 1998), Kdo je čefur, 24.000 poljubov and Hir aj kam hir aj go (the latter also being a hit in some other countries such as Italy and the former Yugoslav republics).

Throughout his career, he has combined disco, Balkan, funk, and electronic music, creating a new and successful style. He has collaborated with other Slovenian groups, such as Sestre, and most recently Turbolentza, another Slovenian band. The band is featured in his latest music video, 'Giv mi mani'.

Magnifico's novel dressing style, performances, and quotes have gained him fame and notoriety in Slovenia and in other countries as well.
