Introduction

Louis Marquel "Lou" Roe (born July 14, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player.

College playing career

Roe played collegiate basketball at the University of Massachusetts (UMass), with the Minutemen, where in 1995, he was the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, and a consensus Second Team All-American.

Professional playing career

Roe was selected by the Detroit Pistons, in the 2nd round (30th overall) of the 1995 NBA Draft. Roe played in two NBA seasons with the Pistons and Golden State Warriors. In his brief NBA career, he appeared in 66 games, and scored a total of 130 points.

After his NBA career wound up, Roe played professionally in the CBA, Spain, South Korea, Italy, Mexico and Argentina.

Post playing career

Roe is currently working with the men's basketball team at the University of Massachusetts, in an administrative role, assisting his former UMass teammate and current head coach, Derek Kellogg.

Education

Lou Roe is an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst through the University Without Walls program.
