AFL career
2011–2012: Gold Coast
Caddy was drafted by Gold Coast with pick seven in the 2010 AFL draft. In his first season Caddy played the final two games of the season, making his debut in round 23 against Melbourne. After the season there was speculation that Caddy wanted to return to Victoria to play, with Essendon being a possible destination but there was no deal made and he remained at Gold Coast.
2012 was a much better season for Caddy, playing all 22 matches, and kicking 15 goals. In the round 16 loss to Geelong he was given the round nomination for the 2012 AFL Rising Star.
In September 2012, the Gold Coast Suns announced that Caddy was requesting a trade to return to Victoria.
2013–2016: Geelong
In October 2012, Caddy was traded to the Geelong Football Club for a round one compensation pick (which Geelong received for losing Gary Ablett Jr. to Gold Coast) and pick 55 in the 2012 AFL draft.
2017–present: Richmond
At the conclusion of the 2016 season, Caddy was traded to the Richmond Football Club.
