Biography

Jeff Zinn is an American director and actor.

He played Danny in the off-Broadway production of Sexual Perversity in Chicago by David Mamet and Trety in The Suicide by Nikolai Erdman starring Derek Jacobi. Zinn was a stand-in and photo-double for John Travolta in the celebrated film Saturday Night Fever in 1977.His feet are featured in the iconic opening sequence underscored by the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive". He earned a B.A. from Franconia College and M.A. from New York University. Post graduate studies an MFA the American Repertory Theatre Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University and a certificate in executive leadership from the Kennedy School of Government. He was artistic director of Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater from 1988 -2011. He was the Managing Director of Gloucester Stage Company in Gloucester Massachusetts from 2015-2018.He is the author of The Existential Actor: Life and Death, Onstage and Off, Smith and Kraus Publishers, 2015.

He is the son of distinguished historian Howard Zinn.
