Jeff Abraham is an American publicist, comedy historian and author.He is coauthor (with Burt Kearns) of the book,The Show Won’t Go On: The Most Shocking, Bizarre, and Historic Deaths of Performers Onstage, published September 3, 2019 by Chicago Review Press (the first book to explore the phenomenon of performers who died during a show).
As a publicist, Abraham has represented some of the top names in comedy, including Steve Harvey, George Lopez, Bill Maher and, for the last eleven years of his life, George Carlin.He is the owner and curator of the largest comedy album archives in Hollywood, and has been a research consultant to authorsand numerous film documentaries and television specials including Make 'Em Laugh for PBS; Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time; Let Me In, I Hear Laughter: A Salute To Friar’s Club on Cinemax; and the Encore film, Method to the Madness of Jerry Lewis.He has also conducted interviews for The Archive of American Television and worked closely with the Paley Center for Media. Abraham is on the advisory board of the National Comedy Center.
